East Meadow Kiwanis sponsors Barnum Woods K-Kids, Bowling Green K-Kids, McVey K-Kids, Meadowbrook K Kids, Parkway K-Kids and Eden II K-Kids. K-Kids is the youngest and fastest growing service organization for elementary students worldwide. Our club members work with children to help them learn leadership skills, develop strong moral character, and encourage loyalty to the school, community and nation. K-Kids are generally aged 6 to 12 and provide our club members with a constant reminder of what is right in our community. Our club is proud to help these kids learn and live up to the K-Kids pledge:
‘As a K-Kid, I promise to serve my neighborhood and my school; I will show respect toward my environment; and I will try to make the world a better place in which to live.’
We strive to fulfill the Kiwanis vision of changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Our mission is to help educate our children, support our community, and establish ourselves as the premier service organization in East Meadow.
What a great afternoon! The East Meadow Kiwanis crew headed over to the Ronald McDonald House, rolled up their sleeves, and got busy in the kitchen making a delicious dinner for all the residents. The place was full of laughter and teamwork, with everyone pitching in and showing just how much a group of caring people can do together.
Huge thanks go out to everyone who volunteered as a chef—your time and effort made the evening really special.
Big shout-out to chairs Marcee Rubinstein and Tracy Rudd, who organized everything and made sure we had what we needed. Thanks for bringing everyone together and making the night run so smoothly!
And of course, a special thanks to Chef Mike Panagatos for coming up with the menu, sharing his recipes, and leading our kitchen crew with so much energy and creativity. The food was amazing, and you made it fun for everyone.
To every volunteer, organizer, and supporter—thank you for making a difference, one meal and one smile at a time.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) offers a “home away from home” for families whose children are receiving medical treatment far from their own communities. By providing food, shelter, and support, RMHC eases the emotional and financial stress that accompany a child’s illness. Meals prepared by volunteers are central to this mission—nourishing not only the body but also the spirit. ... See MoreSee Less
